On your arrival you will be met by ours
representative who will escort you to the Mountain Village Lodge,
overlooking Lake Duluti the lodge is set in magnificent gardens just
outside Arusha town, for a comfortable afternoon and evening prior to
your departure the following morning.
Day 2
Having packed a moveable feast of a pack lunch we will leave for
Tarangire National Park and its marvellous birdlife and incredible fauna
in order to revel in the marvellous atmosphere of Kikoti Camp. The
lavish gala dinner taken under the stars in our own Maasai bomas will
thrill and provide an enduring memory of traditional African hospitality
Day 3
Your first full day at Kikoti will see you enjoying such activities as a
full days game drive followed by a thrilling guided walk through the
wilderness ending at Kikoti Rock for sundowners taken with the stunning
African sunset as a backdrop, another unforgettable experience. Your
return to camp will be made in our own open vehicles and provide you
with yet another extraordinary memory of the immense variety that Africa
has to offer.
Days 4 & 5
Bidding a fond farewell to Tarangire we will take you on to perhaps the
most unexpected of our destinations. Lake Manyara will provide you with
yet another perspective on Africa. A lush oasis of tropical forest
amongst a land of arid plains the park is home to many species and is
internationally renowned for its tree climbing lion and flamingo
populations. Leaving the park in the afternoon we will arrive at Lake
Eyasi. Spending the night in our own mobile camp you will be free to
enjoy the afternoon and following day in the company of the ancient race
of bushmen that wander the Lake shores.
Days 6 & 7
Leaving the Lake shore and the bushmen behind we will drive you over the
Serengeti plains to experience two full days game viewing from the
Serengeti Sopa Lodge. As an optional activity whilst based here we can
arrange for you to take an indulgent balloon ride, floating majestically
over the grasslands below.
Days 8 & 9
Traveling via the prehistoric site at Olduvai Gorge we will make our way
up to the rim of the Ngorongoro Crater. Olduvai is a river canyon
cutting 300ft into the volcanic Serengeti plains, once home to our
earliest ancestors. Their remains can still be found nestling in the
exposed soils. We will arrive time to watch the shadows lengthen over
the Crater floor and to settle in for the night at the Ngorongoro Sopa
Lodge. The following day we will spend on the floor of the Crater.
Taking a lunch hamper with us we will be free to explore this Garden of
Eden. This is without doubt the premiere wildlife experience in Africa.
Days 10 & 11
Taking lunch in Arusha at the Impala Hotel we will drive across the
Tanzania / Kenya border at Namanga in order to drive on to Amboseli
National Park. With its permanent water reserves and swamp lands
Amboseli is a haven for a multitude of wildlife species and provides one
of the most enduring images of East African wildlife, a herd of large
tusked elephants browsing contentedly with the snowy peaks of
Kilimanjaro floating ethereally as a back drop. For your two nights of
discovery here we will arrange accommodation at the Amboseli Serena
Lodge.
Days 12, 13 & 14
A short scheduled flight over the Ngurumani Escarpment and the Loita
Hills will bring you to the Maasai Mara. Long revered for its wildlife
concentrations the Mara is the northern most extent of the annual
wildebeest migration. Staying at the Mara River Camp at the foot of the
Siria Escarpment you will have privileged access to some of the best
game country in Africa from a camp renowned for its intimacy and
friendly staff. Here you will have the opportunity to engage with the
local Maasai and their culture and share marvellous bird watching along
the river banks.
Day 15
Another scheduled flight, this time to Nairobi, will bring you to the
end of your time on safari with us. Lunch and a day room at the Norfolk
Hotel will enable to freshen up and relax before an early supper at the
Carnivore Restaurant and your drop off at the international Airport for
your return flight home.
