Day 1: Drive To Queen Elizabeth national park
Have breakfast to drive to Queen Elizabeth National park. The journey
will take you half a day to reach in the afternoon and bird around the
Mweya Peninsula and the crater region in the afternoon. This afternoon
bird search will reward you with birds like croaking Cisticola, Marsh
Tchagra, migrant harriers such as Pallid and Montagu’s and many others.
It will also reward you with game like monkeys, warthogs, bushpigs and
many more. Overnight at Mweya safari lodge.
Day 2: Birding Tour, Launch Cruise
Go for a very early morning search for birds to drive towards Lake
Kikorongo and the Kasenyi track in the park. These areas will reward you
with game like Common Squacco Heron, Glossy and sacred Ibises, eagles
and many more. Retire to the lodge for late breakfast and lunch. After
lunch go for a launch cruise on the Kazinga channel to explore the
resident and migrant birds. Expect birds like the African morning dove,
Mongolian plovers, Eurasian Honey Buzzard, Common Teal and Winged Plover
and many more. Overnight at Mweya Safari Lodge.
Day 3: Drive To Bwindi Impenetrable
National Park
Drive through the Ishasha sector to transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable
National Park. While traveling you should look through the wind for game
especially tree climbing lions in the Ishasha sector. You will reach in
the afternoon to bird at the entrance of Buhoma camp area. Overnight
Gorilla forest camp/ Buhoma community Bandas.
Day 4 & 5& 6: Bwindi Birding Tour
You will bird for three days in Bwindi, you will first walk along the
waterfall trail. This will reward you with birds like white bellied
Robin-chat, Kivu ground thrush, and slender billed starling. The next
day you will bird along the short trail to Mubwindi swamp to watch out
for birds like the African Green broad bill, Montane Oriole, Turacos and
many others. On the sixth day you will bird along the long trail to
Mubwindi swamp and the afternoon along Ruhija. Dinner and overnight at
Institute of tropical forest conservation (ITFC)/ Gorilla forest camp/
Buhoma community Bandas.
Day 7: Drive Back To Kampala
Have breakfast to drive back to Kampala. You will have lunch enroute and
proceed to reach in the afternoon. Overnight at hotel Africana/ Sheraton
Hotel.
10 Days Uganda Birding Safari

Day One: Drive to & Birding in Kibale national Park
Drive to Kibale National Park, a forest of its own kind that boasts of about 335 species of birds. You will make a stopover in Mbarara for lunch and a leg stretch reaching the Park in the late afternoon. In the evening you will bird around the Kanyankyu area. Expect to see birds like the Red-Winged Francolin, White-Naped Pigeon, Abyssinian Ground Thrush, Red-Chested Flufftail, Green-Breasted Pitta, Grey-Winged Robin, African Pitta and many more. Overnight at Primate Lodge/Kanyankyu Tourist center.
Day Two: Birding Tour, Forest Walk, Chimpanzee & Primates Watching
Go for a forest walk in search of more birds. The walk will reward you
with birds like Olive Long-Lived Cuckoos, Dark-Backed and Yellow-Mantled
Weaver, Willcock’s Honey Guides, the Superb Black Bee-Eater, and Cassins
Honey-Birds. The forest is also a site for the joyful Green Bul,
reasonably common and conspicuous here but scarce else where in Uganda.
On you walk, you will also get to see primates like the Monkeys,
Mangabeys, Chimpanzees, Baboons and Bushbabies. In the afternoon you
will visit the Bigodi Swamp, where you will encounter birds like the
Yellow-Rumped and Yellow Throated Tinker-Barbet, Black & White Casqued
Hornbill, Brown Eared Woodpecker, Snowy-Headed Robin –Chats and others.
Overnight at your preferred Lodge.
Day Three: Drive To & Birding in Queen
Elizabeth national park
Go for a walk in the Magombe forest if you want, before you drive off to
Queen Elizabeth National park. You will reach in the afternoon and go
birding on the Kazinga Channel. You will go for a boat ride on the
Kazinga channel that connects Lakes Edward and George. You will view
plenty of game and birds as you go along. Birds to look out for include
the African Mourning Dove, Grey-Capped Warbler, the beautiful
Black-Headed Gonolek, the Great White Pink–backed Pelicans, the Swamp
Flycatcher, the African Fish Eagle, Long Tailed Cormorants and the rare
Shoebill. Overnight at Mweya Safari Lodge/Jacana Safari Lodge/Budget
Institute of Ecology.
Day Four: Birding Safari
Go birding the whole day in the park, taking the morning to bird in the
Kasenyi area and the afternoon, in the Maramagambo forest. You will see
the Crested Guinea Fowl, African Emerald Cuckoo, the Red-Headed
Bluebill, Yellow Bill, Verreaux’s Eagle-Owl, Ross’ Turaco’s, Yellow
Throated Leaflove, and many more. Overnight at your preferred Lodge.
Day Five: Drive To Bwindi National Park
Have breakfast then drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National park. You will
pass through the Ishasha sector. Look out for Tree Climbing Lions
enroute. You will reach Bwindi in the late afternoon. Bwindi is known to
harbour plenty of Albertine Rift endemic bird species and also offers
some of the finest montane birding in Africa. In the evening you may go
for a community walk and entertainment in Cultural Dances. Overnight at
the Gorilla Forest Camp/Gorilla Resort/Volcanoes Exclusive Camp/ Buhoma
homestead.
Day
Six: Ruhija area Birding Safari
Spend the whole day birding in the Ruhija area. Expect birds like as
Green Tinkerbird, Archers Robin Chat, Red-faced Woodland Warbler,
Northern Olive Thrush, Abyssinian Crimsonwing, the rare and Beautiful
Shelley’s Crimsonwing and many more. Overnight at Gorilla Forest
Camp/Gorilla Resort/Volcanoes Exclusive Camp/Buhoma homestead.
Day Seven: Bird watching Whole day at
Mubwindi trail
You will go birding along the short and long trail to-Mubwindi the whole
day. Expect birds like the Grey Chested Illadopsis, the montane Oriole,
White Headed Wood Hoopoe, Bar-tailed Trogon, the beautiful Carruthers’
Cisticola and the Great Blue Turacos. Overnight at Gorilla Forest
Camp/Gorilla Resort/Volcanoes Exclusive Camp/Buhoma homestead.
Day Eight: Drive To & Bird at Lake Mburo
National park
Have breakfast and depart for Lake Mburo National Park, you will bird
enroute along the road. Lake Mburo NP is the Best place to see the
typical of Southern Savannah species and Acacia associated species.
Dominated with tall grass and dotted with Acacia and Eurphobia, the park
harbours species such as the Red Headed Love Bird, Black Collared
Barbet, Narina Trogon, Lead coloured Flycatcher, Green-capped Eremomela
and many more. You will reach in the afternoon to bird around the Rwonyo
Camp. Overnight at Mantana Tented Camp/Mihingo Lodge/Rwonyo Camp.
Day Nine: Birding
Tour
Go birding in the park to search for birds like African Fin Foot,
Hamerkop, White Winged Warbler, Papyrus Gonolek, Northern Brown Throated
Weaver, Spur Winged Plover, Malachite Kingfisher, the Lesser and Greater
Swamp Warbler, African Water Rail, the rare shoebill among others. These
are easily seen when you go for a dugout canoe on Lake Mburo. Overnight
at Lodge of your choice.
Day Ten: Game Drive
And Return Journey
Go for another morning game drive and then drive back to Kampala.
You will reach in the afternoon. Overnight at your preferred hotel in
Kampala.

Day 1: Drive To & Bird at Murchison Falls National Park
Drive to Murchison Falls national park in the morning after breakfast.
You will pass through the famous Luwero Triangle, Budongo forest and the
western arm of the Great Rift Valley. You will reach the park in the
afternoon to drive to the top of the falls where the park derives its
name and the Nile its beauty. At the top of the falls you will see how
the calm Nile forces its self through a narrow gorge to fall 150 fts
down producing a thunderous roar of white water. You will walk down to
the landing site to bird while traveling. Look out for birds like
Chestnut Crowned Owls, Warblers, Flycatchers and many more. The ferry
will then transfer you to Paraa Safari Lodge for the overnight.
Day 2: Birding, Launch Cruise & Wildlife Tour
Have breakfast and prepare for a boat ride at 9; 00 am. The launch
cruise takes you down stream to the bottom of the falls where you will
see plenty of animals and waterbirds at the shores. Expect birds like
the Goliath Herons, Egyptian Geese, the African Skimmer and Pied
Kingfisher, Pelicans, and many more. On the ride you should watch out
for wildllife like Hippos, Crocodiles, Buffaloes, Elephants and other
game. Overnight at Paraa Safari lodge.
Day 3: Birding Tour , And Game Viewing
Safari
Breakfast then off to the northern game viewing circuit to go through
the thorn acacia. This will reward you with birds like Speckle-fronted
Weaver, White Bellied Barbet, Swamp Flycatcher, Blue Breasted Bee-eater.
You will spend the whole day there looking for birds. Enjoy a picnic
lunch while birding. Overnight at Paraa Safari Lodge.
Day 4: Drive To & Bird At Kibale Forest National Park
Have breakfast and then drive to Kibale Forest National Park to arrive
in the early afternoon. You will bird at the entrance of the park or in
the Kanyankyu area. Overnight at Ndali Lodge/Primate Lodge/Kanyanchu
Tourist Centre.
Day 5: Guided Nature Walk and Birding Safaris
Go for a guided nature walk in the Kanyankyu area to look for birds like
the Masked Apalis, African go-shwak, Grey Parrots the Majestic Crowned
Eagle.. You will have lunch and then transfer to Bigodi Wetland through
the Magombe Swamp for water birds of the park. Expect birds like the
Mosque Swallow, Papyrus Canary, Papyrus Gonolek, Brown headed Tchagra
and others. Overnight at Ndali lodge/Primate Lodge/ Kanyanchu Tourist
Centre.
Day 6: Drive To & Bird Watch At Queen Elizabeth National Park
Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park through the Magombe swamp and
bird enroute. You will arrive in time for lunch and then bird in the
Crater Lakes region and the Mweya Peninsula in the afternoon. Marsh
Tchagra, Croaking Cisticola, migrant harriers such as Pallid and
Montagu’s are the birds you should expect. Overnight at Mweya safari
lodge/Jacana Lodge/Budget In
Day 7: Birding, Boat Ride And Game Viewing
Go for dawn birding in the Kasenyi track and the Kikorongo forest area.
You will be rewarded with birds like Common Squacco Heron, Glossy and
sacred Ibises, as brown snaked eagle, martial eagle and many more. You
will retire from the game drive to the lodge for lunch and then in the
afternoon go for a boat ride on the Kazinga channel. This boat trip will
reward you with game and plenty of waterbirds, both residents and
migrants. Expect kingfishers, African eagles, pelicans, honey buzzards,
African morning dove and others. Overnight at Mweya Safari.
Day 8: Drive To bwindi Impenetrable Forest National park
Transfer o Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. You will go through the
Ishasha sector to reach the park in the afternoon Watch out for tree
climbing lions enroute. You may bird around the park entrance or go for
community walk in Buhoma where you will be entertained in some of the
traditional dances of the country. Overnight Gorilla forest camp/ Buhoma
community Bandas.
Day 9 & 10& 11: Bwindi Birding Safaris
You will bird for three days in Bwindi, you will first walk along the
waterfall trail. This will reward you with birds like white bellied
Robin-chat, Kivu ground thrush, and slender billed starling. The next
day you will bird along the short trail to Mubwindi swamp to watch out
for birds like the African Green broad bill, Montane Oriole, Turacos and
many others. On the sixth day you will bird along the long trail to

Have breakfast and drive towards Lake Mburo NP. You will reach in the
afternoon to bird around the entrance of Rwonyo camp the whole sundown.
Expect birds like black bellied bustard, mosque swallow Bird and
Rupell’s long-tailed. Overnight at Rwonyo Rest Camp/ Mantana Tented
camp.
Day 13: Bird Watching
You will drive on the Kigambira loop searching for birds and then in the
afternoon you will go for dugout canoe on the lakes to explore the
shores of the lake in search for water birds in the park. Green-capped
Eremomela, Austral migrant, black cuckoo-shrike Tawny, African Hawk,
Batelour are some of the birds watch out for in the park. Overnight at
Rwonyo Rest Camp/ Mantana Tented camp.
Day 14: Drive Back To Kampala
Have breakfast and drive back to Kampala. Overnight at Sheraton Hotel
Kampala/ Serena Hotel.
