11 Days Kenya and
Tanzania Safari
This is a budget 11 days safari to Kenya and Tanzania staying in
standard accommodation including tented camps and lodges. Good Value
safari for those wishing to get the most in their safari with a moderate
budget.
Day 1: Nairobi - Masai Mara
After breakfast, drive across the plains to reach Masai Mara Game
Reserve. Have lunch before heading for an afternoon game view. This
drive will acquaint you with the well-known wildlife inhabitants of the
famous reserve. Dinner and Overnight at Mara Sopa lodge (FB)
The Mara offers wildlife in such variety and abundance that it is
difficult to believe: over 450 species of animals have been recorded
here. You will easily see lions, rhinos, hippos, crocodiles, giraffe,
wildebeests, zebras, buffalo, warthogs, hyenas, jackals, wild dogs,
buffalo, leopard, many kinds of antelopes and elephant. It is in the
Mara that perhaps the most spectacular event of the natural world takes
place. This is the annual migration of millions of wildebeest and zebra
from the Serengeti (Tanzania) in search of water and pasture. Following
on their heels are the predators of the savannah- lion, cheetah, wild
dog, jackal, hyena and vultures.

Day 2: Kenya, Masai Mara
Full day in Masai Mara with morning and afternoon game drives. On this
day you can take a cultural visit to a Masai Village to learn about
their contemporary culture. On this day also, you can choose to take a
balloon flight across the plains of Masai Mara at dawn to take in the
vista as the morning breaks before landing with champagne breakfast.
All meals and overnight at Kichakani Tented Camp.
Day 3: Kenya, Lake Nakuru
Depart to Lake Nakuru. You will spend the afternoon on a game drive on
the base of the Rift Valley where you can anticipate seeing millions of
flamingos as they gather to the shores of the to feed. This is a sight
not to be missed.
Lake Nakuru National park lies in the Great Rift Valley, 140km
north-west of Nairobi. The ecosystem comprises of the lake, surrounded
by mainly wooded and bushy grasslands. The park supports a wide
ecological diversity with Flamingos (Greater and Lesser) and other water
birds being the major attractions of the area. The ecosystem provides
for about 56 different species of mammals including the white rhino and
buffaloes and a variety of terrestrial birds numbering nearly 450
species.

Day 4: Kenya,Nairobi-Amboseli
After breakfast, return back to Nairobi. Have lunch in Nairobi. After
lunch proceed to Amboseli National Park, home to the proud Masai tribe
and the told and retold ever-lasting snows of Mt. Kilimanjaro. A game
drive in this park will enable you to meet lion, giraffe, cheetah and
Elephant. Overnight at Amboseli Serena Lodge (luxury) sopa lodge(mid
range/budget). (Full board)
Attractions in Amboseli include: Large Herds of Elephants, Mt.
Kilimanjaro – the highest free standing mountain in the world forms a
back drop for photographing, Observation Hill which allows an overall
view of the whole park especially the swamps and elephants, buffaloes,
hippos and a variety of water fowls like pelican, Egyptian goose etc.
Dinner and overnight at Amboseli Sopa Lodge.
Day 5: Amboseli
Full day in Amboseli with morning, mid morning and afternoon game
drives. All meals and overnight at Amboseli Sopa Lodge.
Day 6: Ngorongoro Conservancy
Breakfast in Amboseli and proceed to the border of Kenya and Tanzania,
cross over and proceed to Arusha for lunch. After lunch continue to
Ngorongoro en-route game drive to the lodge. Dinner and overnight at
Bougainvillea Safari Lodge.
Day 7: Ngorongoro Conservancy
Breakfast and take picnic lunch with you for a full day crater tour,
return to the lodge in the evening.
Ngorongoro is a fascinating and unusual Conservation Area which includes
the Ngorongoro Crater at its centre, and then extends through the Crater
Highlands, in which local tribes are permitted to maintain their
traditional lifestyles in as natural environment as possible.
This extraordinary volcanic landscape is rich and fertile, with stunning
craters and lakes, and the high altitude creates a malaria-free micro
climate.
Dinner and overnight at sopa Lodge.
Day 8: Serengeti National Park
After breakfast leave for Serengeti via Olduvai Gorge an important
archeological site. Afterwards proceed to Serengeti arriving in time for
lunch. Afternoon game drive.
This land is justifiably famous for its huge concentrations of wildlife,
especially the big cats, as well as being the stomping ground of the
Great Migration, a massive accumulation of 1.5 million wildebeest,
200,000 zebras and 350,000 gazelles stretching their legs over 1,200
miles in an annual race to find enough water and green grass for their
survival.
The National Park is broadly divided into three distinct areas, the
Seronera Valley and Seronera River, the Western Corridor and the
Northern Lobo area that extends northwards through the Lamai Wedge to
the Maasai Mara.
Most visitors enter the Serengeti through the southern Naabi Hill Gate,
which opens onto the Seronera Valley; a vibrant wildlife area at the
heart of the Serengeti.
Dinner and overnight at Ikoma Tented Camp.
Day 9: Serengeti National Park
Full day in Serengeti with morning and afternoon game drives. All meals
and overnight at Ikoma Tented Camp. On this day you will get to take a
night game drive.
Day 10: Lake Manyara National Park
Depart Serengeti after breakfast and continue to Lake Manyara arriving
in time for lunch. Afternoon game drive.
The Lake Manyara National park is serene and beautiful with main
attractions of a rich bird life, tree-climbing lions, its elephants, and
hippos that you can see at closer range than most other places. Lake
Manyara is an alkaline lake and at certain times of the year hosts
thousands of flamingos and a diversity of other bird life. Although it
is one of the smallest parks, its vegetation is so diverse enabling it
to host a variety of wildlife habitats.
Dinner and overnight at Migunga Tented Camp.
Day 11: Arusha - Nairobi
After breakfast depart for Arusha arriving in time for lunch. Afternoon
transfer to Nairobi arriving in the evening. You will be dropped at the
airport to catch your home bound flight.
